Medical aesthetics is a specialized branch of medicine offering non-surgical treatments designed to enhance cosmetic appearance. These services are ideal for patients seeking to address wrinkles, hyperpigmentation (sun spots), skin laxity, acne, scars, inflammation, and sagging skin. Aesthetics practitioners are highly trained, with a focus on facial anatomy and blood supply, ensuring safe and effective treatments. For some patients, however, aesthetics services at SVH may not be suitable, and in these cases, referrals to dermatology or plastic surgery are available to provide alternative care options.
Microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is available to stimulate collagen production, which can improve skin texture and reduce acne scarring. VI chemical peels are another option, effectively treating acne scars, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation from sun exposure or hormonal changes. We also offer lash assessments to evaluate and enhance lash health and volume.
Our services extend to personalized weight loss plans, which our practitioners develop based on individual goals and health profiles. With free consultations, we ensure each patient receives the best possible care tailored to their unique needs.
Medical aesthetics services are available for patients 13 years of age and older. The best way to know what you are eligible for is to schedule an initial facial aesthetics consultation to outline your goals with your practitioner. In some cases, a referral to dermatology or plastic surgery may be recommended.
Medical aesthetics services are open all genders. Goals around cosmetic appearance are different for everyone and our practitioners can discuss with you what services may help you meet those goals.
Downtime refers to the time immediately following treatment, and depends on the service that you receive. Your practitioner will review the procedure that you may be eligible for, along with what to expect, any downtime or side effects, and what activities may promote or delay healing.

We currently offer a selection of premium skincare options, including Alastin Skincare and BIOJUVE (biome care). Both lines are designed to support healthy, radiant skin with advanced ingredients tailored to various skin concerns. Alastin products focus on skin rejuvenation and anti-aging, while BIOJUVE harnesses the power of biome care to enhance your skin’s natural microbiome for a balanced, healthy complexion.
What does Medical Aesthetics mean?
Medical aesthetics is a type of medical practice that includes non-surgical treatments and services that focus on improving a patient’s cosmetic appearance. For patients who want to treat wrinkles, hyperpigmentation or “sun spots,” skin laxity, acne, scarring, inflammation and loose or sagging skin, aesthetics services offer a safe and effective method for treatment. Medical aesthetics practitioners have received specialized training with a focus on facial anatomy and vasculature, or blood supply. In some cases, a patient will not be eligible for medical aesthetics services as SVH and so a referral to dermatology or plastic surgery can be provided.
